Korean drama Daejanggum (Jewel in the Palace) had spurn a craze in Asia as the drama's director Lee Byeong-hun was being interviewed in Hong Kong as he exclaimed that he had affection for Maggie Cheung and Joey Wong as if he were to produce a Hong Kong version of Daejanggum, they would be suitable for the role of Jang-geum.

Other than shooting drama serial in Korea, he also share his experience of filming in university classes. With regards to Hong Kong movies, he's also very familar as he admired Hong Kong director Wong Kar Wai the most and the actors being Maggie Cheung, Chow Yun Fatt and Andy Lau. Lee exclaimed: "Maggie Cheung, Chow Yun Fatt, Andy Lau and Wong Kar Wai, I like them all."

When reporters asked if he will be shooting a Hong Kong version of Daejanggum, who's suitable for the lead? Lee said that it will be Maggie as she's pretty and full of charisma, Joey Wong would be bad too. When told that Cecilia Cheung look like Lee Young-Ae as many thinks that she's suitable for the role of Jang-geum, after looking at Cecilia's photograph, he says: "Although I do not know her, she could do it also as she do have some similarity with Lee Young-Ae."
