Organized by Sichuan Broadcasting Group, Sichuan TV, Phoenix TV and Chengdu TV, fund raising event For the Name of Life (literally translated) was held at Chengdu last night. Artists from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan gathered to show their support and the boss of Media Asia Peter Lam also lead his singers which include Andy Lau, Sammi Cheng, Leon Lai, Andy Hui, Miriam Yeung, Denise Ho and Richie Ren to appear in the event.
The Media Asia's singers gathered at Chengdu TV for the rehearsal. In the program, Andy and Leon get to sing a song each whereas past lovers Andy Hui and Sammi appeared on the stage together for the first time as the Media Asia singers duet the song Promise. However Sammi was not arranged to stand side by side to Andy Hui and Miriam whom once alleged to be not on good terms with Sammi.
As the singers would be attending tomorrow's 512 Concern Love Action fund raising event, boss Peter Lam specially provide a private jet to fetch the singers back to Hong Kong.
During the flight to Sichuan, the in-flight photographs of Andy and Sammi appeared on Sudden Weekly, Sammi quipped: "Wah, we looked like lovers, what happens when people mistaken us as lovers, haha."
At the actual event, Zhang Guoli narrates the story of Ren Siyu, she is a primary school student in a village in Beichuan, she was buried under the building after the earthquake, she sang 'Liang Zhi Lao Hu' which touches all rescue workers. She sang the song again last night which won loud applause.
Andy communicate with Siyu on the stage as he said: "I have fan also named Siyu, both of you are our pride."
When Siyu addressed Andy as "uncle", Andy then quipped that she should addressed him as "brother", this phrase brought some joyfulness into the event which is rather filled with seriousness and depression.
Andy then duet the song Promise with Leon, Sammi, Miriam and Andy Hui. He said: "In future, we'll walked together down the road."
