Andy lost 2 chances of being nominated in HKFA

The 24th Hong Kong Films Awards (HKFA) will be held on 27 March in the Hong Kong Coliseum, this will be the second time to be held in the Coliseum since 1999, the HKFA Association chairman Wen Chou and 2 vice-chairman announced the details yesterday at Tsim Sha Tsui. Wen expressed that this year's theme is the 100 years of Chinese movies, to accomodate the theme, a new award Century Star will be presented to Bruce Lee.

Wen revealed that Zhang Yimou, Zhang Ziyi, Hou Xiao Xian, Liu Xiao Ching will be the award presenters, currently Lin Zhilin and Song Hye Kyo are being invited to be award presenters. When asked if Yu Kexin is being considered to be invited for the ceremony, Wen quipped: "She won't be considered as Andy will be present to support the HKFA."

However, Andy who is eligible for the Best Actor award lost 2 chances of nominations as House of Flying Daggers and A World Without Thieves were not directed by Hongkongers as it only meet 1 requirement of the 3 requirements. Therefore only Andy's Hong Kong production of Jiang Hu, Yesterday Once More and Magic Kitchen eligible for nominations.
