The ever popular classic Hong Kong drama serials were still the favorite of audiences in Hong Kong and Taiwan. Hong Kong's TV station TVB started the repeat telecast of the classic dramas at the midnight slot and unexpectedly obtain a high viewership ratings as Hongkongers became "night owls" as they tried to watch the drama every night. Taiwan's company Bellstar distributed classic TVB dramas VCDs were also selling very well as they would be releasing the dramas' DVD this April.

TVB first started to re-run the 120-episode At The Threshold Of An Era and obtain a high viewership of 95% which stirred up a craze of drama fans watching the drama every night for 4 months, many resturant which open business for supper diners had to switch on their television set to attract customers, it allows TVB to witness the drawing power of its dramas.

Thus, TVB Weekly has a survey with 50 personals from showbiz and more than 100 audience on which is the drama serial that they wished to watch again. The results shows that Andy Lau and Idy Chan's Return of the Condor Heroes (1983) garned the highest votes, followed by Andy and Tony Leung's Duke of the Mount Deer (1984 ), at third was Adam Cheng's The Greed Man. Among the top 3, 2 of the dramas has Andy in the cast, this proves that Andy's status as the top leading man in TV dramas stayed forever.

When told of the survey results, Andy was delighted as he says: "I never expected that so many people has the same feeling as me of the urge of watching this drama, in the last 10 years, there were several different versions in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Mainland China, but everyone still wants to watch the version of me and Idy, the credits must go to the producer Siu Sang, he has a special way in shooting wuxia drama, currently nobody could learnt his skills, if he never insist in casting me as 'Yeung Gor', I won't be whom am I today."

Among the top 10 most memorable scenes, Andy and Idy's Yeung Gor and Little Dragon Girl battle their enemies on the condor was at number 4, Andy's Yeung Gor's arm got severed was at number 7 and Emperor Kang Xi killing Wei Xiaobao in Duke of Mount Deer was at number 8.
