The interview with Andy Lau was broadcast on Commercial Radio last night, when talked about Battle of Wits, Andy exclaimed that he was picked by director Jacob Chang not because of his looks but rather the director's belief that he's able to carry out the character well.
The movie promotes the message of love and not attack, this makes Andy to reflect if the person he had help really need his help, Andy says: "Take for example that I'm helping out the movie industry, those the filmmakers require my help? I'm still reflecting, and I'm still searching for the answer. Actually I'm always helping people, does these people need my help, because they could act better than me."
Andy explained that he would try his best to help the movie industry because he can see that some people would need his help to a certain extent but does not need his help in some other areas, Andy says: "I can see that but I continue to help them, but the group of people under the emperor also needs help, if to depend on the emperor's decision to help a person, many chances would be missed by some of the people."
When talked about his character Ge Li being a wise man of the Mo's family whom serve all people, so is him a wise man personally? Andy said: "I'm not! I'll take evil steps, I also would quarrel with people."
Meanwhile, directed by Peter Chan, starring Andy, Jet Li and Takeshi Kaneshiro, the re-make of The Blood Brothers will start shooting next month, it was alleged that Maggie Cheung was approached to be the female lead, however after reading the script, she was not interested thus rejected the offer. Therefore, Media Asia which was one of the investors is trying to use Shu Qi instead, however the other investing companies does not agree to the idea, thus the female lead is yet to be confirmed. As the movie is invested by companies from Mainland China, Hong Kong, Japan and Korea, the female lead should be an actress covering foreign markets, Zhang Ziyi and Gong Li would be suitable choices!
