Andy Lau was invited by General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China to be the charity ambassador of Products Identification Authentication and Tracking System (PIATS), to promote the Chinese government reinforcing products safety and supervision as it concerns the 13 billion Chinese's lifestyle and 50 billions of products safety.
To be chosen for this task, Andy exclaimed that he is very honored and he will give his full support to the government's reinforcing products safety and supervision. In order to allow consumer to understand what is PIATS, the commercial is expressed in different languages, it also require to have different angles facing the camera, the same phrase had to repeat more than 10 times. Andy quipped: "This can be considered as the commercial that I said the most words."
In order for people to understand and familiarize with PIATS, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China and other related departments had followed the government's requirement of implementing and promoting, thus the person chosen to endorse this exercise is very important, the first person to come in mind is Andy Lau.
The person-in-charge for General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of the People's Republic of China expressed: "Andy Lau is very influential in Asia, he's professional, patriot, upright, caring and active in charity works, no matter it's his character or his movies and songs had leave a deep impression to Chinese of all ages. With him as the endorser, it will surely get notice by people and speed up the implementation of PIATS." The person-in-charge also expressed that he wanted to thanks Andy for agree immediately even though he will not be paid.
The director of this commercial is Wang Xiaoshi whom requested Andy to wear a Chinese Samfoo for the shoot, he said: "Because Andy wearing the Chinese Samfoo will have an upright image which fit the requirement of the commercial." For this commercial, Andy specially tailor made 2 Chinese Samfoo, one in gray and another in black.
When the director see Andy wearing the Chinese Samfoo, he said to the person beside him: "Why he could be so handsome, no wonder normal looking people like us can only be those behind the screen."
Andy whom was currently busy shooting his new film said that he fully support this system as he said that one could not prevent nature disaster but one can always control and prevent man-made disaster.
