TVB's 2004 Top 10 Jade Solid Gold Awards was held yesterday at Hong Kong Coliseum under a bomb threat where a total of 46 awards were presented. The Most Popular Male and Female Singer was won by Andy Lau and Joey Yung whereas Andy and Kelly Chen won the Asia Pacific Most Popular Male and Female Singer. Andy also win 1 Hit Song award, Most Popular Commercial Song Silver award and Most Beloved Chinese Song Gold award, a total of 5 awards on the night to become the biggest winner, he was also the first singer to win the most popular singer award in Hong Kong and Asia Pacific.

Andy had won the Most Popular Male Singer in 1990, 1991, 1992, 1994 and 1999, reclaiming the award again since 1999, this being his 6th time winning the award, it broke the record of winning the award for the most time held by Alan Tam. For the Asia Pacific Most Popular Male Singer award, this is his fifth win in a row.

When he was announced the winner, Andy appeared nervous and constantly taking deep breathe. After collecting his award, he walked towards the fans to wave at them and showing victory signs.



Since 1999, he reclaim the award after 4 years which won loud applause from the audience, Andy gave Hacken Lee a hug with a turn for full 5 seconds, Andy says with tears in his eyes: "I'm very clear of the feeling of lost and reclaiming, I wish those whom lose their family members, hope they can like me losing it and reclaiming it, I've nothing to say, thanks all." After Andy finish singing, all singers had gone off the stage, except him who is so delighted that he stay on to wave to the fans.
