Media Asia's The Warlords held its Hong Kong press conference and premiere in the night yesterday. Director Peter Chan, boss Peter Lam and the cast Jet Li, Andy Lau, Takeshi Kaneshiro and Xu Jinglei attended the event. In front of the reporters, Andy complain that it was suffering shooting this movie as his finger got fractured.
Andy said that Peter Chan is silly as there was a scene where both his hands are handcuffed, he was hit to the ground and dragged along the ground. As real handcuffs are used and not safety precaution, one of his left hand finger fractured, luckily there is no after effects as it does not affect him holding to the microphone to sing. Upon seeing the director care less of what he was saying, Andy think that the assistant director should also explain on this matter, thus he feel that he suffered for the film.
When asked why Andy only brought up the matter now, he said: "I'm thinking for the director, I does not want to affect the shooting process, acting comes first, furthermore it's all over, he had forget how to get angry!" Andy also quipped that he accepted to be cast in the film is due to the high fees and later said that it was just a joke. He quoted that he accepted the film as he gets to collaborate with Peter Chan and Jet Li. when asked of Peter's performance first attempt at fighting film, he said: "His requirements are special, when shooting the scene that I and Jet was talking wile riding on horses, we were told that we will be using real horses instead of prop horses, real horses are hard to control, I think the director should do some considering."
Actually Andy had already started training for his upcoming concerts, he just took some time off to promote his new film. Andy added that he would not be accepting period films in the near future, because he had The Warlords and Three Kingdom, he would need to makeup to look 70-years-old in Three Kingdom, upon smelling the smell of the glue already gave him a fright.
When asked about Johnnie To saying that Sammi Cheng and Andy had collaborated too many times which made it rather boring, Andy said that he and Sammi are considered as classic partnership, of course there is a need of new element, will collaborate when new sparks to be created.
