Two days ago, Andy Lau jetted back from Beijing to attend Ronald McDonald House Charities Children Kidathon with Andox and Blackie.





Andy is popular among the children as they all wanted to shake hands with him.





Andy then lead Andox and Blackie to do warm up exercises with the children. As he recently hurt himself during the shooting for Future Cops in Beijing, thus he feel a little bit pain after doing the warm up exercises, thus he went to visit a doctor after the activity.





With regards to news that East Asia artistes will absent from the upcoming RTHK Music Awards press conference, thus it's alleged that East Asia is boycotting RTHK, Andy said: "The management company had understand with the East Asia, but East Asia express that they are not boycotting RTHK. (So you have the possibility of attending the award presentation ceremony?) My chance of attending is not high, because I will be location shooting in Beijing."





With regards to the current music awards presentation ceremonies had become dull, Andy does not think so as he said: "Each station has their own direction and rules, but many singers had to go overseas to work, if the ruling of no attending no awards, it will results to many singers losing their awards."





Andy pointed out that he could not attend many seasonal selections, but the selections will be affect the year end results, if he does not have any songs nominated and the Best Singer award is presented to him, there will be allegations, he would also feel bad!





In addition, TVB had retrenched 200 people, Andy thinks that despite the current financial tsunami, TVB should not retrench as they retrenched staff will be left at a lost, unless they suffered really badly in the tsumani, retrench is not an option.

Future Cop, a scientific film invested $1 billion, directed by Wong Jing, starring Andy Lau, Fan Bingbing and Barbie Hsu is currently shooting at Beijing's China (Huarirou) Movie & TV Industry Zone.





On 27 November 2008, media were invited for their first visit. They were shooting a scene of a Tang dynasty valuables exhibition opening. Andy and Fang Bingbing appeared in their future cop attire, Xu Jiao whom made her name in CJ7 appear as a pretty girl.





On the of the visit, they are shooting the scene of a Tang dynasty valuables exhibition opening. In the opening, villains tried to kidnap a respectable scientist acted by Ma Jing Wu. Team captains Andy and Fan lead a team of future cops to protect Professor Ma, this follows a battle between good and evil. In this battle, Andy return to the past and his wife Fan is killed.





It seems that the outfit of the future cop has a future feel, the carbon gray tight fitting uniform had a metallic feel, they also have some special weapons. It is understand that the weapon is just for show, their effects will only be known after computer special effect being added. Everybody think that the actors looked cool in this outfit, but movements are limited as its too tight fitting. Andy once had his pants torn due to extreme movements, Chan Siu-tong quipped: "We just sewn it back and everything will be OK."





Fan Bingbing exclaimed that the uniform looked like diver suits. Andy complains: "It's troublesome when going to the gents, when I wear it, it looked like female gear, removing it will take some efforts, it's too tight fitting."





This will be Andy's second collaboration with Fan Bingbing after Battles of Wits, both of them have chemistry and confidence of this collaboration. Andy quipped that he had a courtship in his previous collaboration with Fan, but this time he skipped the process as she is his wife at the beginning of the movie, they also have a "love product".






Their daughter Xu Jiao is very active as it can be seen that Andy and Fan showed a lot of concern to her as if they're a happy family.





Andy showed a lot of concern for his "daughter" as Xu Jiao was sitting on his lap throughout the interview.





When asked if she prefer Andy or Stephen Chow as her "father", Andy came to her rescue by saying: "Just say it's Stephen, I'm Ok with it." Xu Jiao exclaimed: "Stephen is a very cool father, Andy is the handsome type of father."

In this movie, Andy get to collaborate with many beautiful actresses. In the future, his wife is Fan Bingbing, in the current time he had a buddy in Barbie Hsu, Barbie's assistant is another beauty in Liu Yang, when asked which one of them is his favorite, Andy quipped: "I loved all of them, if possible, I wish all of them to be my girlfriend."





On the day of shooting, Andy seems to be very courteous with the reporters, wearing the future cop uniform, he had to perform stunts together with Liu Yang on the high platform.





He had no complaints after an afternoon of shooting, his professionalism won the praise of the production team.






Liu Yang whom was nicknamed to be the actress that Wong Jing strongly promoting said that she met Andy for the first time, having collaborate with many Hong Kong's best actor winners, she said that she is nervous when she first saw her idol Andy.




Meanwhile Andy said that he had collaborate with many beautiful actresses before thus he's not nervous.





The afternoon shooting is mainly about Andy and Liu Yang as they battle robots from the future, they kept perform stunts on the platform as they tune their weapons and rescue people.





Director Wong Jing revealed that to show off the "futuristic world", large amount of computer effects will be used, the vehicle of Andy and his team of future cops will also be eye catching. It's heard that the movie will gave more than 900 special effects scenes, it can be the Chinese film with the most special effects scenes.





When asked about the difference of this movie with Hollywood movies, Wong Jing express that Hollywood films are too cold whereas Oriental productions are more humanise. Andy also express that actually Asian film technologies can be comparable with Hollywood, thus this movie will not lose out to Hollywood movies.





When asked of the high price paid for this film, Andy helped Wong Jing by saying that his asking fees is too expensive, Wong Jing added that the fees for art director Chan Siu-tong is also very expensive.




Andy then quipped: "Correct, I never expected that Chan Siu-tong is more expensive than me."


In recent years, Andy had been cast in major productions, or some moody or villain characters, it had been a long time since Andy accepted any comedies, all would have know that Wong Jing's production has been more imaginary, this would be far different from Andy's past films. Thus everyone is curious why Andy decided to take up this film. With regards to this, Andy said: "When I set up my own film company in 1991, Cai Song Ling was one of my sponsor. He had not shoot a movie for many years, he told me about this movie 3 years ago, thus I told him to write the script slowly, I will surely accept the movie. Never expected that he changed the script 19 times."





When asked if he accepted the film to return the favor of Cai, Andy said: "That sound so bad! Of course this is not one of my consideration. I've not collaborate with Wong Jing for so many years, we had done so well in the past, his movies also touches me."

Andy Lau and Shu Qi are a couple in their latest film Looking For A Star, the male is a millionaire and the female is a casino dealer. Recently they were interviewed Men's Uno magazine as they talked about the changes of their mentality these few years.


Andy exclaimed that he believe in luck, he feel that if one is to depend on hardworking and lack of luck, things might not turn out well. He recall those unhappy things in the past, he feel that if just give up on the must-win mentality, understand what your target, it could be the solution when encountered difficult situations. He said: "Take for example that I went into movies from TV dramas, in the end I got myself into the cold storage! Then I went to learn singing, I even help out in my own hair salon, all these are incidents that I least expected, but thinking back if I'm not so calculative, many things will have a solution, among these will get unexpected experience. It's always said that the one to be defeated is yourself, I agreed to this saying."


Andy continues: "The characters that I acted out in recent years, no matter its a good guy or villain, main lead or supporting role, I only looked at whether I did well and not care about others."





Meanwhile Shu Qi exclaimed that her relationship with Andy in the film is what she hoped for love all these years. She said that when she ages, she become very easily satisfied. With regards to the several marriage of female artistes in recent months, Shu Qi said: "Of course I'll envy them, but I'm also satisfied of my current state."

Recently, yule.sohu.com had inside news that Future Cops had shift its location shooting venue to a theme park in Beijing. Our reporter visited the shooting venue and managed to catch future cop Andy Lau save a child on a ferris wheel.





The story of Future Cop is set in 2080. As solar energy had become the main source of energy for human, the war has no more wars. However for this huge invention had stopped an organization from making profits, thus they start a series of assassination on those people involved in this invention.





Andy is Chow Chi How, a policeman from H city. During his battle with his opponent, he accidentally return to 2010 as he team up with policewoman Barbie Hsu to track down this organization.





Andy's future cop character is like superman, although looked the same as any other human, but he had super strength and could fly.





On that day, Andy is shooting the scene where he battle terrorists in a theme park, the terrorists had destroy part of the theme park's facilities, they are about to throw one capsule which has one passenger of the ferris wheel, people was running for their life. Andy has the responsibility to save all tourists, you can see him carrying the capsule with one hand, and tried to catch the other capsules...





Then he let his hands on the side of his body before flying into the air like Superman. For this few minutes scene, it require a few days shooting, cranks were used and many crew members pulling the wires.






From what the reporters had saw, it's tough shooting in the cold temperature of Beijing.





The shooting attracts many tourists in the theme park, when they recognise that it's Andy in a location shooting, they became excited and wanted autographs from him, the crew members than exclaimed that Andy is not there for the shooting, all along it's Andy's stuntman doing all the shooting.





The reporter took a closer look and discover that this stuntman look exactly like Andy, be it face, body and movements. To avoid any trouble, the crew members just lied to the tourists.





In the afternoon, during the break of Andy's shooting, the reporter found a stuntman that looked really like Andy. From our understanding, Andy did most of the action scenes himself, for those movements of throwing the capsule will be done by the stuntman.





Computer effects will be used for this scene, the whole film would have more than 900 special effects scene. The difficult action scenes were designed by Chan Siu-dong straight after he completed the Beijing Olympic Games closing ceremony, with the scientific theme, he would be using computer effects to create these classic action scenes. This film had the chance to become the Chinese film with the most computer special effects in history.

Directed by Andrew Lau, starring Andy Lau and Shu Qi, Looking For A Star will opens in the cinema during the Chinese New Year holidays, the main competitor film to be screened in the same period would be Red Cliff 2.





It is known that Looking For A Star would be Media Asia most expensive production for this year. Director Andrew Lau chose to shoot a love film after Confession of Pain, the story would make one think that it's the Chinese version of Cinderella, the actors in this romantic fairytale is Andy Lau and Shu Qi.


The film distributor is confident that Looking For A Star will do well in the box office taking. The spokesman for Huayi Brothers said: "If Red Cliff is the navy, we are the dragon and phoenix in the skies, both films are different, if talk about flying, we are faster."

Andy Lau's concert at Taipei Arena had completed successfully, Jolin Tsai was one those among the audience.
