Love ambassador for the National Paralympics Committee of China, Andy Lau dropped by China Athletics Sports Management Centre on 25 August to pay a visit to the Chinese Paralympics team to show some support to them. The China Athletics Sports Management Centre welcomes the visit of Andy as they thanked him for his close attention to the careers of Chinese disabled athletes and the Paralympics Games.







The representative of the centre gave Andy the Chinese team's uniform at the Paralympics Games. Andy also wrote 'Zhong Guo Jia Uou, Yun Dong Yuan Jia You' (Come on China, Come on Athletes) on a volleyball to show his support to the Chinese Paralympics Games team.







Accompanied by staff of the centre, Andy met up with the athletes of the swimming, track and field and their trainers. He watched them trained and communicate with them, he also took photographs with them. He showed them his support for the Chinese Paralympics Games team, encourage them to train harder to compete at their best condition. He also tried playing gate ball, archery and playing basketball on wheelchair.







The athletes were delighted of the visit by Andy as he is their idol, he had been supporting disabled sports, he used physical actions to show his support for the disabled athletes which touched them. The athletes would like to meet Andy at the Beijing Paralympics Games which Andy had express that he will go to the venue to support the athletes.

It had been 5 years since Hong Kong idol Andy Lau staged a concert in Singapore, it will happen again this December at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Other than a concert, Andy will also perform magic which he had prepared for a long time.



This Wonderful World concert tour kicked off in September last year, it had been to 15 cities in Mainland China before returning to Hong Kong for the Christmas and New Year countdown, into the year of 2008 the world touring begins.



The concert titled Wonderful World comes from his good blessings to human and earth, hope to use high technologies on the stage to allow the audience to experience journey to the galaxy, it also means that going into the new century, the world would have a better tomorrow.


The concert promoter Unusual said that the company had invested heavily to create a new stage to create a new experience in visual and audio, the imported equipment from Japan already cost ten thousands over dollars, it includes the transparent LED screen which will be used in the Chinese population for the first time, combining with lighting effects, it will be the audience into a flawless magical world.


For the Singapore stop, 30 cargoes will be used to transport the equipments, there will be 150 crew members from Hong Kong and Japan. Other than the stage designs and lightings, evergreen Andy will also be singing all his popular songs which includes 'Yi Qi Zuo Guo De Ri Zhi', 'Wang Qing Shui'. Singaporean singer Stefanie Sun was honor and delighted to be invited to perform at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games closing ceremony. She touched down at Beijing 5 days in advance for the recording of the closing ceremony theme song, seize the chance to tour around Beijing to experience the different atmosphere that Olympics brought to the city.



While waiting in the dressing room for their performance at the closing ceremony, all singers' discussion was around the Olympic Games, Paralympics Games ambassador Andy Lau was so familiar with all the competition of the Olympic Games and upcoming Paralympics Games, Stefanie was surprised of the involvement and support of the Olympics from Andy.







As there was still time for them to perform, to kill time, the singers all took photographs with one another to kill time. As both of them was wearing white, Andy and Stephanie took a few photographs together with intimate poses and funny expressions.







After the closing ceremony performance, the singers could not control their excitement after returning to the dressing room as they hugged each other, took photographs together to celebrate the success of the Olympic Games. On seeing Stefanie wearing a red dress, an excited Andy grabbed a red Olympic scarf to take a few photographs with her.

The Olympic Games successfully closed two nights ago, Andy Lau, Nicholas Tse, Joey Yung and Emil Chou whom performed in the opening ceremony but their performance was not broadcast due to time over-run, they were finally rewarded in the closing ceremony as they were arranged to sing and celebrate with the crowd.





The artistes were at the stadium in the afternoon for rehearsal.





When they arrived, their vehicle passed by the vehicle of David Beckham, as they became fans and got excited.





The director of the closing ceremony, Zhang Yimou was there during the rehearsal to thank the artistes from Hong Kong, Mainland China and Taiwan.






Andy went forward to congratulate Zhang Yimou the success of the opening ceremony.





Andy said: "The whole group of us arrived early at the Bird Nest Stadium for rehearsal, before the rehearsal starts, Zhang Yimou came to thanked us for the support."





Andy even had a heart warming hug with Zhang Yimou. Zhang Yimou even stayed behind to watch the rehearsal, before going onto the stage to take a photo with them.






Although the program was live telecast around the world, but the appearance time of the singers had a huge difference. The first to make an appearance is Kelly Chen, Wang Li-hom and Rain as they sang 'Beijing, Beijing, I Love Beijing', they were the focus points of the cameras. Wang Li-hom kept walking around to mingle with the musicians, the cameras zoomed in to his movements.






When it's the turn of Andy, Jackie Chan, Emil, Joey, Nicholas, Stefanie Sun and Karen Mok to sing, due to the large number of singers, the camera could not focus on a particular singer. Andy and Emil were standing in the center, thus they had zoomed-in views.





Nicholas and Stefanie were standing by the side, they only appeared on the screen for one second, if you didn't focus hard enough, you would not be able to recognize their faces, Stefanie was smart enough to walk toward Jackie and stand beside him to get herself on camera.





The spokesman of EEG replied in a telephone interview: "Nicholas is glad to be performing, he's not so calculative, it's a great atmosphere at the closing ceremony."






Andy faced difficulties in going back to the dressing room after the performance, as the route required to walk past the other performers and crew members.




They all tried to kiss him, wanted to take a photograph with Andy and asking for autographs as he was surrounded by them.







He was being rescued by fellow crew members to open the way for him to walk back to the dressing room.





In addition, Karen lost her balance and injured her leg, resulting it to bled. Andy helped to stop the bleeding, but he also suffered knocks from other performers wearing tribal costume.





Andy said: "When we were singing, everybody was in high spirit, I discover that Karen was falling, I immediately grabbed hold of her and pull her up to the other side."





At the backstage area, Karen was thankful that Andy came to her rescue. Karen whom was wearing a red cheongsam and red socks, when she removed her sock, she discover that her legs were swollen and bleeding, Andy clean the wound for her and asked the crew member to treat her wounds.





Andy returned to Hong Kong yesterday, a fan wrote a love letter to him. The crazy fan waited for Andy at the airport since 11 am but she went home empty-handed without meeting her "fiance" as Andy touched down at the airport at 5pm. When asked by reporters, the fan exclaimed herself as Andy's fiance, they're in love for 18 years, she even wrote a letter for her "husband" asking the reporters to help pass to Andy.





When asked why Andy didn't bring her to Beijing to watch the closing ceremony Olympic Games, she answered in a serious tone that Andy is in a rush and didn't asked her to to go along with him! She waited for Andy for a while before leaving the airport, disappointed.







When Andy touched down at the airport, he said that he does not know that his "fiancee" was waiting for him.






When asked about the closing ceremony, Andy said that he's very touched and added that although the closing ceremony is not as complicated as the opening ceremony, but with the theme of "human", many segments do excites him especially the segment where the acrobat performers displayed a "jing" character at the center tower on the stage, the incredible and grand performance on the "memory tower".





Andy said: "I'm very touched."





Andy sighed that he failed to chat with Placido Domingo. He said: "It's a pity I didn't see him, if there's a chance I would like to meet him and chat with him." When Andy knew that he'll be performing while the sportsmen around the world party on the field, he said that he hope to see Yao Ming but he failed to see him.





With regards to the 51 gold medals won by the Chinese tea, he's delighted as it is more than the 40 medals that he predicted.






Andy expressed that he would be busy promoting the upcoming Olympic Equestrian Events, he hope everybody will also support it. He has confidence in the sportsmen of Hong Kong Olympic Equestrian team.






With regards to the lukewarm response towards the Olympic Equestrian Events in Hong Kong, Andy exclaimed that it's a pity that Hongkongers knew little about the event, but he think that they will learn about it slowly, it's not as bad as per reported by the media.





When asked if he think that the Olympic Games had come to an end? He said that it had not ended as support for Paralympics Games is still needed.

The Beijing Olympic Games had successfully ended, many top notch singers performed at the closing ceremony which includes Andy Lau, Wang Feng, Emil Chou, Nicholas Tse and many others performed at the finale as they sang 'Yuan Fang De Ke Ren Qing Ni Liu Xia Lai'. The song brought the atmosphere to new heights as the closing ceremony transformed into a party.



At the backstage area, Wang Feng chatted with Jackie Chan, Andy and Emil about the Olympics. He said: "We discussed many things, we talked about Taipei's Taekwondo athlete Su Li Wen determined to continue competing after being thrown onto the floor so many times, this type of spirit should be the spirit every sportsmen should have."







Other than the Olympics, they also discussed about music. Wang Feng revealed that Andy also seize the chance to ask him to write songs for him as they hope to collaborate in music.

The Chinese Olympic team had good results in the Beijing Olympic Games, this excites many Chinese.












In a blink of an eye, tomorrow is the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games and it will be also a gathering of mega-stars. Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Emil Chou and Liu Huan appeared together at Beijing Olympic Center for a "Goodbye Olympic" press conference.














Jackie wore a "Olympic volunteer" T-shirt as he lead the rest to distribute flowers and applause those workers leaving the Olympic Games.







The closing ceremony theme song 'Nan Shuo Zai Jian' (Hard to Say Goodbye) will be sang by Jackie, Andy, Emil and Liu Huan, the song is composed by the Beijing Olympic committee head Wang Pin-jiu whom got his inspiration from the opening ceremony where he saw singers from Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan were singing while the audience are exiting, these popular singers had discard their name and fame, waiting for 7 hours for their performance, watching the opening ceremony telecast on a small TV, all the sportsmen stand up to show their respect during the flag raising ceremony, all these images leaves a deep impression in his head.










When reporters asked the four singers whether they watch the Olympic Games, they gave their answers.






















Andy said: "I watched almost all the competition on TV, the Chinese baseball team leaves me the deepest impression, although they are not champion, but can feel their love for this sport. They trained for 9 years, but baseball will not be featured in the next Olympic Games, all of them kissed the ground at the end of the competition, this is very touching."
